Cantor began building organs in 1983. From the beginning, Cantor's vision was to design a digital organ that would be respected for its highest sound quality and technology. To accomplish this, organists and electronics engineers applied their combined knowledge of the traditional pipe organ with modern technology to usher in a new era in organ building that accurately replicates the tonal quality and accuracy of wind blown pipe speech.

To this day, this commitment still remains Cantor's highest priority. To accomplish this, the first logical step is to establish an open line of communication to evaluate the needs of the client. It is our hope that each client obtains a clear understanding of the possibilities and characteristics that make Cantor a pipe organ replica for any style and application.

Cantor organs are carefully designed to each client's specification and can be handcrafted for each specific installation. The purpose of this design process is to plan the installation of the organ to maintain both an esthetic appearance in the room and ensure the proper placement of loudspeakers to resemble the location of the pipes in the traditional pipe organ. Through proper design and placement, we have the capability to accurately replicate the sound of a traditional pipe organ.

 Cantor Organ Building

Cantor’s sense of quality and detail is characterized not only by their tonal concepts and the sound of their organs, but also by their distinctive consoles and case designs.

Cantor organs are custom designed and constructed with proven craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Cantor’s consoles and case designs demonstrate the highest standards of workmanship. Even the smallest details are constructed with care and attention.

Solid wood keyboards are available in different colors, finishes and styles, according to your wishes. Their Positive series features oak consoles with traditional wooden draw stops. Combined with the wooden keyboards, detailed casework, and spectacular tonal qualities, Following these traditions, Cantor custom builds each organ to order. Any environment, from church to living room, demands a specific sound and therefore a specific custom instrument. Differences in organ literature, personal taste, acoustic specifications of the room, application of the organ, musical style, and architectural proportions all determine the final specifications, size, and disposition of the instrument.

Cantor uses the same concept in real time digital waveform technology. Their systems are slightly more hardware intensive and are thus capable of producing a wider range of harmonics than any other system available. This will yield more definition in the pipe voice and more control of nuances in pipe speech for the organist who demands the most exacting detail.

Due to the variations in design and  tonal requirements, Cantor organs are priced on an individual basis, with respect to the console style and each organ’s specific computer and audio requirements.
