As organists, we recognize that one of the biggest problems with the acceptance of digital organs by discerning musicians is the key action, especially when compared to a mechanical action pipe organ. We have overcome this by having specially designed, fully adjustable, custom built solid wood keyboards from Germany built for our organs that provide a true tactile sensation of pluck and release characteristics.
Each individual organist will be the final judge of what is tonally acceptable in an organ. When considering the typical practice pipe organ of 4 to 6 stops, one should seriously consider the musical satisfaction realized by an instrument that can provide 24 or more speaking stops for a wider variety of musical registrations.
In most circumstances there will be a very fine line in any compromise between absolute authenticity of sound produced by any practice pipe organ when compared to their inherent stop limitations and cost. Providing an organ with the convincing authenticity we can provide combined with a significantly larger specification has distinct advantages. An instrument such as this has the ability, by design, to be more useful in practicing a wider range of repertoire with the ability to realize appropriate registrations and performance practices. This will offer not only an appropriate musical experience, but an inherent performance advantage to the organist which is not obtainable by just "practicing notes".
